Yanhuang TCM combines traditional clinical experience with contemporary knowledge and technology. Services are individualized according to each patient's presentation, needs and wellness goals.
Acupuncture & Modern Neuroanatomy
Our acupuncture approach brings classical meridian and acupoint knowledge together with modern neuroanatomy. Point selection may consider nerves, muscle groups, trigger points and the patient's individual presentation for more precise, individualized care.
Common areas of focus
- Neck, shoulder and back pain
- Chronic pain and sciatica
- Headache, migraine and tension headache
- Stress, relaxation and sleep support
- Neurologic and functional wellness
- Women's health and general well-being
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine is individualized using Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. Herbal formulas may be selected and adjusted according to the patient's constitution, symptoms and changing clinical presentation.
Herbal care can be used independently or integrated with acupuncture, lifestyle guidance and other services when appropriate.
EEG Neurofeedback (EEG Biofeedback)
EEG neurofeedback is a non-invasive form of biofeedback that uses real-time electroencephalography (EEG) information to help an individual learn greater awareness and self-regulation of brain activity. Sensors placed on the scalp measure electrical brain activity; the signals are processed by specialized equipment and translated into immediate visual or auditory feedback, such as sounds or changing animations.
Training is individualized. Brainwave patterns and training goals are selected according to the person's needs, and sessions are generally repeated over time while progress is monitored.
Areas explored or supported with neurofeedback
- Attention and ADHD-related concerns
- Anxiety, stress and relaxation
- Depression and emotional self-regulation
- Sleep and brain wellness
- Memory and cognitive performance
- Post-stroke rehabilitation support
- PTSD-related concerns
Neurofeedback is not emergency care and does not replace appropriate medical, psychiatric, neurologic, or rehabilitative evaluation and treatment. Individual results vary.

Integrative Wellness
When appropriate, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, EEG neurofeedback, lifestyle guidance and other wellness methods can be combined into an individualized plan. The goal is coordinated care rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Traditional Navel Wellness
Traditional external wellness methods centered around the navel area may include herbal applications, warming methods, moxibustion and related traditional techniques. The specific method is selected according to the individual's needs and suitability.
EEG Neurofeedback
EEG neurofeedback, also called neurofeedback or EEG biofeedback, uses real-time EEG information to provide feedback about brainwave activity. Sensors placed on the scalp measure electrical signals from the brain; specialized equipment processes those signals and provides immediate visual or auditory feedback.
How It Works
The feedback may use sounds or animations that change with brainwave activity. It is designed to help an individual learn greater awareness and self-regulation of brain activity.
Learning & Training
Our original EEG educational material describes operant conditioning as the underlying learning principle. Training frequencies and goals are individualized, sessions are generally repeated, and progress is monitored over time.
Topics in Our EEG Library
Our educational materials discuss ADHD, anxiety, depression, epilepsy, PTSD, cognitive performance and relaxation. The video library also includes memory loss and stroke topics together with acupuncture.

Women's Health
Women's health has long been an important area of Yanhuang TCM's clinical and research interests. Traditional Chinese medicine approaches may incorporate acupuncture and individualized herbal formulas as part of an integrative care plan.
Menstrual & Reproductive Wellness
Areas historically addressed in our women's-health work include menstrual discomfort, irregular menstruation, premenstrual symptoms, fertility-related concerns and reproductive wellness.
Menopause & Midlife Wellness
Individualized acupuncture, herbal medicine and lifestyle approaches may be used to support women experiencing menopausal and midlife changes.
Women's Integrative Care
Our earlier women's-health research program has explored Chinese medicine approaches to conditions including endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, breast health concerns, migraine and other women's-health presentations. Patients should maintain appropriate medical evaluation and screening with their physicians.
